    Book of Condolence for Billesdon

    9 September 2022 (by Lisa Wilcocks (l.willcocks))

    Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of preparations for the period of mourning following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, there will be a Book of Condolence opened in the Parish Church, St John the Baptist, Billesdon.  All of our families (including children) are warmly invited to sign the Book of Condolence in the Church which is open every day for you to pay your respects and to offer prayers.

The Church Warden, Keith Evans and myself will be at the Church on Tuesday from 3:15pm to 4:00pm to welcome you if you wish to call in after collecting children from school.  You are welcome to sign the book at any time over the official period of mourning if it is easier for you to come at an alternative time.

There will be more communications about arrangements within school and for us all over the next few days - we have shared a Collective Worship to remember Queen Elizabeth II, begun wider work in classes to create memories of her reign and listened to the bells being rung in the Church at 12:00pm.  The children have shared some lovely memories about the Queen and the recent Platinum Jubillee celebrations.

I hope you find this opportunity useful for you to share with your family as a way of remembering Her Majesty's long and fruitful service to the country.

    Kind regards

    Mrs Willcocks, Headteacher
