Instrument of Governance

 

All Governing Bodies were required to reconstitute by 31st August 2015 under The School Governance (Constitution)(England) Regulations 2012 and in line with this requirement, our Instrument of Government came into effect from 22nd January 2015. The Governing Body is constituted as follows:

  • 2 Foundation Governors ( one of which is to be appointed by the Leicester Diocesan Board of Education and one ex-officio )
  • 2 Parent Governors
  • 1 Local Authority Governor
  • 1 Staff Governor
  • 1 Headteacher
  • 2 Co-opted Governors

The term of office for all Governors is four years.

The Governing Body of Billesdon Church of England Primary School makes the following statement relating to the character and ethos of the school:

"Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the church at parish and diocesan level.

The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils."
